Proto 3:
I reckon the dread and the guard should
just be vestigial-the gates won't open;
It'll reduce overheads on an already
complicated system.Also, this allows
guard to be better visually
aligned to gate.
CONS: It would have been cool for
players to know that a bloody great
dread right next to them could be
unleashed on them in an instant.
Also, this version here takes up
a bit of room but with the reduced
requirements I can probably shrink it
or change the shape.
At the altar (for paying occasional
rent when told, as gate will not open
for players who dont pay-though they
can get thru if gate already open...)
checkinvs must be placed to figure out
*who* is paying the rent! Ideally,
player paying rent should be kept in
place as method for figuring identity
may take time.Perhaps altar should be
in an alley

If guard is attacked, can pull lever
to open gate to dread (which cant move)
Guard *should* be protected from blast
of any spells the dread casts. Gate
should ideally close again when
there are no players in corridor.
If guard is killed, replacement should
come out from guardhouse.
